Default Buying a LS6 intake for my stock C5 need help.

04 C5 6 Speed stock. I’m buying things here and there while I put it in storage to get it ready for next year.

1) what can I expect from just adding the LS6 intake?
2) What has to be done when putting on a bigger intake ?

Your 2004 already has a LS6 intake. All 2001 and newer have the LS6 intake.

Are the gains from porting and polishing worth it? I could pick this one up, send it right out for port/polish work and swap it then sell my stock intake.

I doubt it's worth it, there may be a measurable increase but nothing you would feel IMO.

you can port it yourself, it isn't particularly hard just time consuming

Next step is to get a FAST 102mm intake/FAST throttle body/FAST fuel rails. And the modding begins...

if the cam/heads are stock the fast intake is not very cost effective

Yep, but don't start there. The stock throttle body is the same as on the LS6/Z06, and the LS6 can be modded a bit with the stock TB. IOW start with cam, headers, heads... then consider another TB IMO.

especially if you decide on a supercharger or turbo, in most cases there is no reason to switch to a larger tb
