Default A/C pulley question

I got this thing a few months ago for what I thought was the deal of a lifetime (seller circumstances). But fixing things seems to escalate faster than my wife's "cheap and fast" kitchen update...... The A/C pulley bearing locked up and took the balancer with it. The "while I am in there" has kicked in for cam upgrade so I will have water pump, radiator, and rack out of the way. My question is that since the pump is still good (clutch turns just not the pulley), can I use a puller while it is still on the car? That way I won't have to evacuate, flush, and replace other things. This is quickly becoming more than the 7600 bucks I got into it FML...

It's actually the pulley bearing on the compressor that locked up. not the compressor itself, but the pressed on bearing. The tensioner and idler pulleys are fine.

Sorry for the non-helpful info.

My guess is that it can be done while in the car especially since you'll have the rack, and other components out of the way.

I ran across some old notes that forum member SteveDoten did this several years ago. He was going to post his work with pics but I could not locate that. Perhaps a note to him will get you the info needed.

Best wishes with this.

And yes, "while you are there" it is a perfect time for a cam upgrade!
