Default Yet another headlight gear question

I was able to get the three mounting nuts and bolts off but can’t seem to slide out the motor. There is a nut on the other end of the shaft that goes into the middle of the motor. Does that need to come off too? I don’t see it mentioned in other write ups but not sure how else to slide off the motor from the shaft. Thank.

Well, good news is that I got the motor off and the new one in. Bad news is that the up and down doesn’t travel very far as it should (very short travel) and when I turn the lights on the “repaired one” goes down and the other one goes up. 😂 I’ll try to find mistake tomorrow.

There’s only one way to bolt it on. I think I have the arm attached wrong. But really not sure at this point. Haha.
