Default SOLVED I need help with throttle body and wiring!

*SOLVED*

Happy Saturday everybody!

It’s been quite a while since I last posted. I was working on a turbo build for my c5z. I ended up going with a 5.3 (pistons + rods), some head work, and a 7876 turbo. Life became extremelyyy busy! I haven’t touched the car in 2.5 years. I cannot wait to get this thing finished and tuned!

anyways..

When I bought the car, the wiring harness was set up for a Nick Williams 102mm TB; so that’s what the wiring harness was modified(?) to fit.

On my new build I went back to an LS6 intake manifold and what I had assumed was an LS6 throttle body (it’s been so long since I worked on this car, I cannot recall where I bought the TB). I’m terrible with wiring and am very confused about what is going on with these connectors and where they belong. The TB motor is also BARELY making contact with the AC delete pulley. If I can use this TB I’ll just grind it down a tiny bit.

-What the heck did this throttle body come off of?
-Can I use this TB?
-What connectors go where?!
-Do I have to modify parts of this harness?

One last thing is: my buddy offered me a spare LQ9 TB he has laying around. Can this potentially solve my problem?

I’m sorry if this seems simple but it’s turning my brain into scrambled eggs. I’ve tried research but the results I’m coming up with are very specific to everybody’s individual problem.

(In the bottom picture: the connector on the right comes from the passenger side after the fuel injector clips. The two connectors on the left come from the driver’s side after the fuel injector clips).

Thank you for your time!!

While I may not be able to help you exactly with your wiring situation, I think it's safe to say that is NOT a C5 throttle body. On a C5 throttle body LS1 & 6 same same, the throttle blade motor should be on the side with the power steering reservoir. The TPS should be on the side with the serpentine idler pulley. Maybe if you find the right TB your wiring will be easier?

Originally I had the same mindset about it but this TB looks identical to a C5 TB, just flipped. Connections look the same. Ports look the same.

Pinout isn't the same, IIRC.

but you can't flip a 3 bolt tb like you can a 4 bolt, not sure what it came off of but I don't think it was a c5

Okay soo.. after hours of research I did find a picture with this portion of the harness clearly displayed. I still cannot figure out what sensor #2 is so if anybody knows that would be amazing.

#1 (in my picture) is for the throttle position sensor - 6 wires going to it.. (in the picture with the LS3 style setup, that connector actually belongs to the MAP sensor - 3 wires going to it?
#2 ???
#3 is for the throttle body motor (needs to be swapped back to the OEM style connector)

If anybody has a factory LS6 setup can you please post pictures?

*SOLVED*

Wow... I did mention in the beginning of this post I’m terrible with wiring. The harness had an LS2 to LS1 throttle body harness adapter attached to it. That’s where the extra plugs came from. I just had to unplug it now everything matches up.

I do think I could get away with using this TB if I extended the harness to reach the TB motor and TPS but I’d rather not cut into it. I’ll find an OEM TB and send it.

Thanks everybody!

Forum Vendor Vettenuts has a factory 3 bolt C5 throttle body for under a hundred bucks. I think it would make your wiring simple to just go back to stock.
