Pressure gauges before the filter and I believe before the fuel pump. Not exactly sure, just that he had it narrowed down to either check valve or right side pump. Ran out of time Thursday and will finish looking tomorrow.

He would have to have had it narrowed down to the check valve since there is NO right side fuel pump !!

Yeah we went over this the other day, you and I. He was unfamiliar with this fuel system as was I, and was going to research before going further, as was I. I don't seem to have the issues of a failing siphon pump so that kinda narrows it down to the check valve.

This was from my ‘01 FSM...yours should be basically the same !!
I have a similar parts niche pulled up. This is where I'm getting my 10448899 part number that is now obsolete🤦 Like I stated earlier, I found two new ones. Only problem being is that one is followed up by -18 and the other -33. Not sure if there's a difference or not. Waiting for the company, White Racing Products, to email me back
So after countless hours of research on this particular fuel system and my mechanic finally getting a stall opened up again, I received a phone call today starting that my car is finally done. Went and picked it up and after talking to him, it turn out that a received a faulty WIX fuel filter/pressure regulator. That was my problem the whole time. Never gave it a thought to test it as it was new July 2nd. So I now have a new fuel pump (my idea), a rear feed fuel line with check valve, and a new filter/regulator. Assumption got me on this one. 🤦*♂️
Also, a huge shout out to C5 Diag for going above and beyond with service help and questions until I finally received my service manual. This guy here is a top notch member with and is very knowledgeable with these C5's. Thanks again to not only C5 Diag, but to everyone else that pitched in!
Let us know if the car fires up perfectly tomorrow morning after it sits and fuel pressure drops. Thanks!
So far so good. However, my gas gauge doesn't seem to work correctly. Comes up to 3/4 with a full tank. I probably messed up the sending unit when I changed the pump.I dunno.
GREAT !!...glad you finally got it fixed !!...always a good idea to do a “repair confirmation” after each part is replaced so you don’t replace other good parts but since you didn’t have the fuel line adapters you’ll have to assume the new filter was good...in your case it wasn’t !!....car should run well now !!

I can tell you I'm not looking forward to pulling the fuel pump again to verify the range of motion with the sending unit. Only reason I can think as to why my gas gauge isn't working properly now.

just wandering if your p0137,p0157. Codes Came back??
Ok thanks, I’m new to this forum, and yes I was asking him or anybody about this two codes
I have them in my 99 c5 replace both rear o2 sensor with no success.
i was wondering if the fuel filter/regulator got rid of those codes.

If you pull up an old thread click name and then profile to see when that person was last on.
Hope you don't mind me interjecting here, but you are clearly very knowledgeable on fuel issues. I just changed the fuel filter last week on my 2000 C5 and now have a constant whining sound at any RPM, idling or driving. The noise seems to be right in front of the steering wheel when driving, and I thought a fuel pump whine would be more under the driver's seat. Fuel filter was badly clogged, performance increased of course, but this whining noise is insane. Any clue & if it's the pump, what manufacturer would you recommend?
The fuel pump is near the rear left tire so it’s not a pump…have you opened the hood and tried to pinpoint the whine…maybe it’s the alternator…other than that you’ll have to find the source.

I have but it's vague where it originates. Much louder when sitting in the car with engine running
