I am looking to get a new exhaust for my '01 Coupe to put on by next springtime and was wondering if I would be able to use the same tips that are on my stock exhaust system or whether I would have to buy new tips? Also, any suggestion on a system would be great...I'm thinking Corsas or Borlas....what are the basic differences between the two? Thanks in advance!
No you can't use the oval tips that came on the stock system BUT.. the Corsa Indy's have a great pro tip that looks great..Check out my homepage for pics and videos for my 2001 Coupe..:D
I removed my corsa's after building my motor, h/c ati ect. I put on the new GHL's and got an additional 18 rwhp & similar tq. This system was designed for guys putting out a lot of power but an install on a stock c5 got another 5 to 7 rwhp and they sound great. Also this exaust is great to have if you do future mods as the more you add the more power they will provide. This system sounds great like the old muscle cars. I noticed that LPE has started using them on their 427TT check their website.
I have seen the Corsa and the Borla exhausts, they are both very nice. You might also want to consider the Magnaflow exhaust. I just had it installed a couple days ago, IT ROCKS!
It really depends on what you want. If you want something that is going to wake the neighbors when you start it up, go with the Borla, it's the loudest.
On the other hand, the Magnaflow has 4 - 4 inch pipes w/ a billit center plate included in the package (gets rid of that blaaaaaa opening). When you buy the Magnaflow w/ x-pipe some cars are seeing up to 20hp gain!!!!
You will be happy with the way any of the systems look!
