Hello Everyone! My adjuster problem is different than the others I have read about. The golden rod in my driver’s side headlight assembly actually turns freely. However, the threaded rod that runs through the plastic gear housing, and is seated into the black ball socket assembly, does not move the headlight. The threaded rod just rotates within the plastic assembly. Also, the black plastic socket assembly turns around and around in the bracket. Is my only option to repair this a complete replacement of the headlight assembly? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

The metal ball that fits in the bracket should not turn. The ball has two ears on it which hold it from turning while the gear housing travels the length of the rod. I just purchased a new golden rod assembly (with a metal rod) and it was locked when I opened the package. I then opened the new assembly and was able to lubricate the plastic gear so that it could travel the length of the rod. Your problem is the the ball is not being held tight. There is #15 Torx head in the end of the ball. See if you can hold it tight while turning the rod.
