I'm stumped on whether to order the 18 x 9.5 547's and buy 2 18" KD's size 265/35 or order the 17 x 9 and keep my current 255/40 KD's. (The rears will be 18 x 11 295/35.)

Any pics of 547's on 17" vs 547's on 18"

There is no right or wrong here....something you need to decide.

For that kind of coin, I'd pony up the few extra bux for the 18's and 2 extra tires. The 18's will look and handle better, and afford you more room if you ever want to get bigger brakes.

If you'd rather save that money, then get the 17's.

18's all the way around look better than the 17/18's... Believe me I have seen many cars with what you are talking about...

On the other hand 18/19's look the best... JMHO... :yesnod:

What makes them look better? is it that the 547's don't look good on teh 17"?

i moved to 547's 18's on the front and have never regreted the switch. I am using Sport Pilots in size 265/35 and work fine. I LUV my 547's! :flag :yesnod: :steering:

Check around for a post by MySea5. He is on many of the SW Events posts. He has pictures of his new 547's with 265/35-18 on front. For the money you are about to spend, I would not even consider staying with 17's. Go 18. Just my .02.

You mean the 18 would fill out the wheel well more? I always thought it would be a wash because of the lower profile.

The overall tire diameter will be about the same (slightly shorter with the 18's actually)...but the wheel is bigger. You're spending all this money to look at the wheels, right? More wheel looks better, everytime.

I'm pretty sure I'll be going with 19/20's for the same reason, only moreso. Bigger wheels, less tire = :cool:

I got a couple of pics which should give you and idea of what it would look like. The first pic has stock size tires. After running both 17/18's and 18/19's, I definitely would go with the larger ones.

Thanks, thats a pretty good comparison of 17's vs 18"'s in front. I prinetd both pics and even though I lose color, I could still make the distinction as the distance of the shots look pretty proportionate.

I went with 18x9.5/18x11 547's for several reaons.
Mainly because I had been through ~6 months of hell trying to get wheels and tires from two different sources (not HRE) and RG @ Exit28 had a set on order already and at a great price.
The 17" 547's look good, don't take me wrong, but the spokes are shorter and look squeezed down to me. As far as 18/19 combo goes, I had already decided to go with the 18" rear because Mich Pilots in 295/35/19 are .3" shorter than the 295/35/18 and I wanted to keep the front to rear height ratio closer to stock for A/H reasons. Probably wouldn't make a bit of freakin' difference though.
I am sure that I made the final decision based on the fact that RG could get them to me at a great price and quickly as I was really tired of jacking around with the other guys.

Ultimately, do what make you happy :thumbs:
