How do you balance front tires? Outer stick-on weights hit the calipers! Bought the car in MO and brought back to NY. Front tires were not balanced and now I know why.
I've never had a problem with getting all 4 wheels and tires balanced with the stickon weights. 3 different C5s, about 8 different wheelsets and approximately 10 sets of tires.
When aluminum or chrome wheels have weights on the outer rims...its not only sacrilegious...its the sign of a shitty tech/ hack shop work.
What weights are you using, and by that I mean 1/4 oz. 1/2 oz, etc. The heavier the weight, the larger, "thicker", it usually is. If you're using 1/2 oz. weights , you may need to go with smaller, but more, weights
EDIT: I recently had a couple of sets of tires mounted on both my OE wheels, as well as my BBS wheels. I just took a look at them, and the shop used 1/4 oz. weights, and I have no clearance issues.

would you be able to describe or take a picture of your wheels? I have no problem with wagon or polished thin spokes wheels and glued on weights.
my 2 cents.
