I had a catastrophic torque tube failure on my 99 FRC so I need a complete torque tube the only thing that's still good from mine is the separate housing that mounts to the trans. Will an automatic torque tube from the earlier C5's work for me? I don't know if the auto have a separate removable housing at the trans or not. I know the 2001 and up C5 tube are stronger and if I can find one I'll go with that. I just don't know if I have to go with a manual tube or if an auto tube could be adapted to work on a manual trans?
Is VetteVillsins VetteVillians? New reference for me. Always cool to find a new place to look.
Yep, sorry fat fingers VetteVillains.
I picked up the Torque Tube yesterday, I was going to ask them if it was ok if I took it apart to look at the bearings and couplers. But I did not have to they already had the driveshaft out of the tube. The bearings were in good shape and there was just a little cracking in the couplers but they included two couplers that were in perfect shape. This Torque tube(10mm) just has to last to the end of this racing season then I'm going to a 12mm tube with billet couplers, which I will probably get from VetteVillains.
I was very happy with the service I received from them.
