Default HELP - Headlight Issue After New Gear

FIXED

Hello all I’m having an issue with my driver headlight popping up and down.

Previously my headlights were popping up and down, although making a loud grinding noise going down. The plastic gear was missing teeth and cracked to the center. I swapped in the bronze gear and am now having this issue.

At first the headlights would go up and down once or twice then it wouldn’t go down, just the motor makes some noise. Not a loud grinding noise like before, just noise like the motor is running trying to get the headlight to work.

I think it’s the lever, bracket?, that connects from the motor to the headlight. I’m not sure if I have it on correctly. I I have it on the nut side of the metal plate, should it be on the motor side? I noticed there are 1 or 2 plastic pieces, should this lever hit this / be able to? Currently it’s pushed too far out from it to touch. I also noticed that nut is a bit loose when the issue arises despite tightening it down.

I’m feeling defeated and could some advice guys. I read somewhere this needs to be aligned correctly, not sure how or what that may look like. Done for the night, gonna pull off the passenger headlight plastic to see what it looks like over there and try to match it.

Make sure those plastic bumpers are in good shape, they can develop a grove over time. If so, just turn them around so the unused side gets the wear or replace with new bumpers.
