I just picked up a 2003 C5 with 30k miles that has the original F55 shocks. As of this writing, they are working well and I am not noticing any symptoms of failure or anything attributed to such.
I know I can get the F55 programmed out as I deleted the F45 on my 99 and went with C6 Z06 shocks. On my 03, I want to keep the F55 setup.
Given that I can still get brand new F55 shocks, should I order new ones now and install or ride out what I have? My delima is that I won't be able to get the shocks anymore down the road, as I plan to keep this car for some time. Again, I know I can get this programed out, but want to stay F55.
I don't think anyone can tell how long new F55 shocks will be available for. 2k is alot of money to spend on a what if. If money is no object buy a spare set and store them properly. The F55s can always be replaced with Z06 shocks and it's not really a loss.

I hear ya, I deleted the F45 on my 99 in favor of C6 Z06, but I really like how these F55 run and would like to maintain the factory option.
I must have missed something. Not judging, but I’m puzzled that you’re selling serviceable F55 shocks, while indicating a concern about further supply of these.

I want to have a new set, if anything, while I can still get them new.
I went ahead and ordered new F55 shocks from GM direct. I spoke with a highly reputable source that advised of a potential impending discontinuation; therefore, I’ll stock up for a rainy day…
what would some good aftermarket options be? I am a pretty new member not sure how the search works (tried a few times but couldn't figure out good threads).
Any help is highly appreciated .
I have a 50y anniversary with bleeding shocks and I don't think stock F55 are worth the expense.

The way I search for threads on this forum is using google search, start the search with C5 Corvette then your query, you'll get dozens of corvette forum post answers at the top of the search

The above is similar to how I use Google. Only I add "corvette forum" in my search criteria. The forum search function can be clunky especially from a phone. If you do opt to use the forum search tool it's always best to click "advanced" search option. Then add your "key words" on the next page and select "all" at the bottom..

You know me, Vader. I'm a bit of a parts horder myself. So I totally get it..
I’ve had success with DuckDuckGo searches, and the forum search tool works but you need to spend some time with it. Make sure to look at all the search items in the Advance Search.
Use as few key words as possible
Below keywords select Search Entire Posts (this can make a huge difference)
De-select “all open forums”, and scroll down for C5 categories that apply.
