Re: Breathless roof scoop? (Mean Green 2000)
Pardon the ignorance, but what is it used for? I have seen them on Mid-engine cars, and I can see the use for a race car that has no A/C or windows to roll down, but on a street car... what would you use it for?
Rice factor = ?
Rice factor = ?

Yeah I know its rice, but it's not when a viper rolls up on you with one. It then is woah , what the hell is that. For anybody that likes to be different, it looks like a sweet mod. I agree I do like the headlights, but I herd condensation is a problem and has not been perfected yet. Hell of a loss for 1300 bucks. I think a roof scoop also serves air for the rear brakes. They have flex tubes that run down to the back. Well thanks for your opinions. I think I will get a thunderracing cam anyways. Mega1 :jester

I have one installed on my car and I love it. It looks much more intimidating than the stock hood and you can see the heat extracting from it. Especially nice for dragging. And no I don't get chopsticks with it. :boxing

Re: Breathless roof scoop? (MEGA ONE)
I don't personally like it, but if you do, go for it!! I think all these "rice" comments about scoops, neon, etc., are over the top. Part of the reason every Vette owner I know of bought the car is because they liked the way it looks. If you can improve the looks of your car in your own eyes, why not do it? And before someone makes the usual "if it's not functional, it's rice" comment, exactly how functional are the "cooling ducts" behind the front wheels on every C5? How functional are most aftermarket hoods (some actually allow cool air into the engine compartment, etc., but most don't). They're all intended to make the car look better, which IMO is just as important as making it go faster :D. So I think go with what you like, and don't worry about everyone else!
