I've read through the detailed thread on the fuel tank issues but probably need to revisit it. Long story short, my '04 CE Z06 has the fuel tank connector issue that has been well documented. The car is at the dealership for repair, and they're struggling to find OEM tanks for replacement. I recall reading on here that the C6 tanks are the exact same. What does the group recommend I do in terms of sourcing new tanks? Is there anyone manufacturing the OEM tanks or is the only option used tanks? Any help would be much appreciated!
From a quick search on the internet I found that the tanks are interchangeable from 2004 to 2013. Your dealer should be able to determine what fits and what's available. One dealer still had a new right side tank listed as available. Left side was listed as not available. If you get a used tank as long as its from a C6, it won't have the connector cracking issue. Seems like there are plenty of used tanks available. Good luck.
I had to replace my driver side tank last year in my 2004 CE vert, was in getting the A&A supercharger installed a d found the gas tank coupler cracked. Wasnt just a seal or crossover tube issue. Put in c6 tank and crossover tube as new fuel pump was going in as well. Good luck!
It was just the driver side tank on mine. Hope yours is a little easier to repair. My only benefit was the cradle was already dropped on mine when I figured it out.
