car pulls hard from side to side in grooves on street.
My car drove fine, but then I got new rear tires and an alignment and the mechanic said one of my rears was severly out of whack. I figured this accounted for the excess wear on the inside of my rear tires. Now the car won't track right on anything but a smooth road. It will pull in ruts and really feels unsafe to me, yet at the dragstrip the car is fine. So I am hoping this isn't anything big, and I will be getting another alignment soon at a different garage was wondering what specs I should request to avoid this pull. I don't notice any loose play in the wheel just that the car seems to pull hard from side to side when the tires catch a grove in the road, otherwise feels nice and tight no "play"

Sounds like it has more toe than you like. An alignment guy should know exactly what to do to remove it if it bothers you that much. BTW, its a good idea to get a before/after printout every time you get an alignment so you can feel what settings change what.

what he said and you had a lot of neg camber to wear out the inside of the tires. I did that on my fronts with -1.5, but I like -1.5 makes the car turn fast.

Go back and get the car re-alligned, something is not right. :nono:

My 2001 with stock tires steers kind of twitchy when driving in the studded tire ruts. The wheelbase of the C5 is wider than the ruts which makes for an inherently unstable situation.

The pulling side to side is common with cars with wide tires. The Corvette is no different. If you are looking for some mild street / Highway driving alignment specs, here is what I suggest for non run flats:
Front Caster 6.5 to 7 degrees
Camber -0.25
Total toe In 0.06 to 0.125
Rear Camber -0.25
Toe 0
For run flats set Camber to zero
As your driving gets more aggressive, add more negitive Camber and run the rears 1/4 degree more straight up than the front.
Then monitor your tread wear across the tire every 2500 miles or so and alter you Camber to suit your driving.
Road Racing and Drag Racing are a whole different deal.
I hope this helps.

Re: car pulls hard from side to side in grooves on street. (C5stein)
what bothers me is that the car was ok, now it is sever and feels unsafe to me on these crappy roads we have here. It cost me 90 bucks each time I get aligned so I try to keep it to 1 a year at most. I would really just rather goto a different shop at this point. Hey chris at ECS you do alignments ?
