bilsteins with z51?
this might and prob is a dumb question, but what exactly does the z51 suspension upgrade from the f45? i am considering going lower with my car, and have read that bilsteins are recommended. how much difference will going from the z51 stock shocks to bilsteins make and what are the ride comfort/quality consequences? most important, what are the benefits? thanks.

I believe the F45 is adjustable and the Z51 is not. The Z51 is more of a
performance set-up.
I lowered with the Z51 and then went to Bilsteins. The stock set-up with a
lowered car places the shock's plunger in a new postion, reaching extremes
that a non-lowered vette will not achieve, maybe causing premature wear.
The Bilsteins are stiffer and produced to handle the stress of a lowered rig.
You will not get as much body role or bounce once the Bilsteins are on.

The Bilstein's are a shorter shock than stock (say that 3 times real fast), when lowered,, you won't hit the bumo stops with the shorter shock, you will with the stocks :yesnod:
