I had the idea to remove my entire Hvac system since it doesn't work and id like to save weight and have some space under the dash to hide some electronic boxes. The only issue is I don't want the constant dtc codes for the missing components. How would one go about changing the wiring to make the computer not see a problem? Is it as simple as sending back the low voltage signal to the pcm? If a solution can be found, I wonder if it could be replicated for those who have failed ebcms in the 97-00 cars. The only goal is to not set off dtcs. Anyone have ideas?
The EBCM sends status messages to the cluster via the serial bus. I suspect that the fancy digital HVAC system does the same, just need to figure out what messages are being sent over the bus. The trick to turning off error messages is to send the same messages over the serial bus using a J1850 transceiver. I worked out a way to do this for the EBCM, but it's not exactly trivial:

That is cool as hell that you pieced that together. I dropped a follow on the IG and will definitely have to look into replicating that on the HVAC when the time comes. Thanks for sharing!
