Hey all, just gonna keep it short & simple here. Check Engine Light came on, it's been raining a lot here in TN. I went ahead and checked the codes and Code 10-PCM P1416 is what I pulled up. It seems to be a ''Secondary Air Injection (AIR) System Bank 2''. Car still behaves normally, but what I would like to know is if this would be considered a serious issue? Should I get this fixed ASAP? I cleared the code but I haven't test driven the car yet to see if it comes back.
It is not too serious unless you live in an emissions state which you're not...the passenger side "check valve" may be "gunked" up which may be causing the DTC to set...I'm assuming you're not mechanically inclined so your mechanic should know to "unclog" the check valve...Corvettes aren't the only car with this system...a little Brake Kleen or similar and an air compressor should be all that is needed to possibly fix it..to change the check valve is a little more difficult with it being on the passenger side...my buddy did a video on its operation and is below...the check valve is behind the intake manifold.
Appreciate your comment, but I'd like a bit more feedback...I talked with a couple people and they're trying to tell me that it's a major issue, and to get it fixed ASAP as it can cause major damage if left unchecked. Not really sure what to do, I got a busy work schedule currently and I just took the car into the shop last month for a new skid bar. I'd rather not have to go right now to get it fixed, but I'm also not trying to let this issue get any worse. Would y'all say that this is okay to leave alone for a month or 2?...what's the worst that can happen if this is not repaired immediately. It's the only code that is appearing, but when I clear it, it just comes back by the next day.

Well the "couple people you're talking to" are idiots !!...ask them WHAT major damage it will cause as I'd like to hear it...it's not going to get any worse but you listen to who you want to !!...the worst thing that will happen is you'll be staring at the MIL...just leave it go until you can fix it.
many people have removed the SAS on their cars. I have taken them off almost every motorcycle I have had. Whomever is telling you this is a major issue and your car is in danger, as stated, is an idiot and you should find new friends. Google what the SAS is and what it does, knowledge is power. All it really does is inject air into the system on start up for environmental concerns, which is honestly useless functionality to make the EPA happy.
Lmao at the "sky is falling" attitude AFTER coming into a forum asking for help, just to tell us we're wrong
Ask em what damage it's gonna cause if the system is inop? Myself and probably 25,000 other C5s in non-emissions states have removed the entire air injection system and our cars are perfectly fine 🤷♀️

Is it daily driven?
Have you found a diagnostics pro to call?
If it’s not a daily driver, that will give you the time to start researching who to trust your car with.

Exactly! I couldn’t imagine having to pull over so that the emissions police can do a sniff, then get a ticket, and go have to replace parts so that I "comply."

Listen to @C5 Diag he has been on these forums for a long time. If he lived near my house, I would not think twice about taking my car to him for any thing I needed diagnosed, or fixed.
