***(2) Annoying Problems w/ My C5*** PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I have a 2001 A4 C5. I have (2) problems that the Chevy dealer tells me they CANNOT diagnose & that maybe I am out of my mind. I am about ready to sell this car if I cannot get these issues resolved. They are really, really getting to me now. I paid a lot of money for this car & I feel like I am treated like the car is worthless at the dealer...
The first problem is EVERY night when I drive home it is dark outside. The interior dash lights go dark every night at least once. But it is only the lights where the (6) needle gauges are, not the radio or A/C lights. The dealers says the plugged the computer to it & cannot find anything wrong at all & cannot do anything...
The second problem is when the A/C is on & I put the A4 into reverse, the car sometimes stumbles like it is needing gas. The RPM's drop down a bit. It has stalled only once, but it stumbles 3-4 times a week. For example, I will be driving to the bank with the A/C on. I will park, go in for (5) minutes, come out, & start the car. The A/C will be on. I throw it in reverse & start to turn the steering wheel & it starts to shake. The RPM's drop to 350/400 momentarily & then come back up to 500/550. It stumbles kind of loud & it is embarrassing. It also happens when the A/C is on & I am kinda going sideways to get out of a steep driveway with the wheel to almost all of the way to either the right or the left. The dealer tells me the car & its idle are primarily controlled by the PCM & they cannot make any adjustments. The PCM has never been updated since I bought the car, but the dealer says it is current...
Can anyone please help??? I basically have nowhere else to turn. I am worried if I go to sell the car & a buyer comes, what will he think if he turns the air on & puts it in reverse???
Any help & I mean any help would be APPRECIATED...

The Limiters Tab is dedicated to controlling the Rev Limiters, and the idle speed of the engine.
Within the Test Parameters Tab, you may edit the following functions:
„h Idle Speed
„h Limiters
„h Rev Limit by Gear
„h Rev Limiter by Temp
„h Rev Limiter Delay
The Idle Speed Table allows you to enter information in RPMs. The first axis is in degrees Fahrenheit. The second axis is what gear you are in and whether the AC is on or not.
Figure 16: Limiters Tab Window
4.4.1 Idle Speed
The Idle speed table is the RPM at the given Coolant Temperature. There are 4 separate tables. One for in gear, and one for out of gear, and a second set used when the Air Conditioning is turned on.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is what can be done with your PCM, using the LS1 Edit, if we can set up your idle when the A-C is on, I would hope the dealer could also. It sounds like either he doesn't know how or has some other reason for not wanting to promote customer satisfaction. Mabe this information would budge him in the right direction. Hope this helps
