Yank convertor with FLP level 4 trans?
I am in process of ordering a FLP trans for my car and they are really against the Yank SY3000 with this trans. THey are recommending the Vigilante 3200. Any one running the FLP trans with a Yank? Any problems? I already have the Yank and don't want to sell it, I just bought it! But they know what works in there trans, right? Any help would be appreciated! :banghead:

Did they say why....is it only the SY3500 that they don't like with the FLP?
I'm ordered a SS3800 recently and am also looking at doing the tranny at the same time.....I wonder what the scoop is

No, they really did not say why. They mentioned reliability? Yank seems to have a great reputation on this forum, thats why I bought it! I am almost willing to believe it is because they only sell Vigalante? Thanks for the response.

I hope others chime in....I'll be watching this one closely....I hope the FLP guys aren't saying that simply cause they don't sell Yank converters.

Re: Yank convertor with FLP level 4 trans? (clancy)
The only sense I can make of this is based off a thread here on the forum that mentioned Yank doesnt recommend a Trans Go ( or similar ) shift kit with their convertor. FLP uses a Trans Go in the level 4.

I have the FLP tranny and the SY3500 converter. Both are holding up good so far behind my 427 motor.
FLP did not recommend the Yank for me too, but I went with it anyway & so far so good :yesnod:

Thanks every one for the input! Just for the record.......... I am in no way discrediting Yank, Vigilante or FLP. I am 100% using FLP and the Yank. Just want to make sure I am not alone in this!

Many people are running Yanks and the FLP together.
FLP of course tells everyone to use Vigilante because that is what they sell and they think they are better converters.
I have the SY 3500 and the FLP combo.

Re: Yank convertor with FLP level 4 trans? (2000^C5)
That is true about many people running Yanks with FLP level 4 transmissions and that is fine, it's your choice. But IMO and that is mine, so I'm not bashing here, I like the Precision Industries converters better because of their engineering, parts, workmanship, pricing, quality control, converter clutch lining, etc... most of all my experience with their product verses any other converter for that matter, but again that's my opinion. And it is the only converter I choose to sell and will continue only to sell because of my knowledge and experience with other converter manufactures. I hope this clears up the reason why we recommend and we are just recommending not telling anyone to buy A or B or C, that's your choice.

FLP - Thanks for jumping in and helping us out. If would blown my a4 before I purchased a convertor, I would definately take your advise, just can't afford to loose any more money on reselling new parts. I'll be calling you guys next week for the trans.
