What about the C5 logo?
It is available also.

There is a 5 to 6 RWHP difference with this bridge as well as looks.

Jim,

I placed an order via your website (#356). There was no option for the C5 logo. Can you please ensure I receive mine with the C5 logo instead of the Halltech??

Thank you!

Simple economics. We spent $10,000 in molds, $2,000 to have the molds redone so that the pieces come out seamless.

Each piece is hand laid pre-preg carbon fiber. We use an internal bladder and autoclave heat process to make these as stong as steel (literally), and a finish like glass.

Our cost to make each one allows a 20% margin at the price level shown.

If I'm not mistaken folks purchase an exhaust system for $600-$800 mainly for the tips and sound.

This gives you 30% increase in airflow, and looks that we feel works with the Z16 carbon fiber hood.

I thought I would offer them to the LS1 folks with a variety of integrated carbon logos, but it appears that the price point is beyond the product value.

When we first came out with the original MAG in carbon fiber, it was priced at $329.00 and sold like hotcakes. That was then, this is now.

Yes, we recieved it and will provide the integrated carbon crossed flags logo.

When you see the quality of this piece, and the performance, please report back to the forum.

Does something like this work with your TRAP system??

What is a carbon fiber MAG -- I'm not familiar with that...

As for the Z16/LS1 comment -- are these not designed for the LS1??

I don't doubt the quality -- just the initial sticker shock I guess...

WOW, you certainly make some beautiful carbon fiber pieces. Amazing!!! I nearly lost it when I saw that 50th anniversary coupler.

That being said I too feel the price is a little wild. Not relative to other airbridges (god knows I'd drop $80 more for this than the competition), but it's just that ALL these airbridges are kinda insane IMHO. Look at this thread and you'll see how bad most of us want airbridge/coupler prices to drop. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=590685

I think it would be important to have a 3rd party dyno this with a blackwing or some other intake to help verify results of 5-6hp. I think we've all become a bit skeptical of hp claims from anyone's intake items, but if it truly gets me 5rwhp I'm sure you might push more of our buy prices up. Heck, I'd be happy to see 3rwhp on a airbridge.

BTW, does it work with a blackwing?

Initial cost aside (i know, that's kinda unfair), I'd love to know the part cost is, or what number you expect to sell at that 20% profit you quoted. There's a huge market out there for more affordable bridges...$350 kinda jumps into the deep end of that sea of low-selling airbridges everyone makes.

Sorry if this comes across as a rant, but this thing just looks so nice I really want one. At $350 it's just teasing me since I know I'd never spend that for an airbridge.

BTW: Do you make fuel rail covers in those colored carbon fiber molds ala the 50th anniversay airbridge...maybe in blue or torch red?

The Tunnel Bridge is a clone of our TRAP Tunnel Port section.

They are designed to work with all intake systems, from stock to aftermarket.

Available for 97-2004 C5s and come with the Z06, Crossed Flag, or 50th Anniversary IC logos (Integrated Carbon)

Just a thought. What makes a diamond valuable is its quality, or cut, clarity, and color. The Halltech Tunnel Bridge is also pure carbon, but is made under much less pressure, but it also has performance benefits.

I know these are expensive. We considered that when restoring our molds, and almost decided not to go forward. What ulitmately made the difference was the interest in the carbon fiber fuel rail covers, which will match the Tunnel Port, and the fact that GM is beginning to feature carbon fiber, titanium, and other exotic materials on the C5, and ultimately the C6.

I'm not really into upgrading my stock unit because:

* Doesn't do much for HP
* Hardly ever seen unless I pop open my hood which I rarely ever do

But that sure is the best looking unit I've seen yet! :yesnod:

350 - price of quality, I guess :( Jim, do you know who makes the engine "beauty covers" or covers to the valve covers that would match this product or are you considering making them? Never thought I'd bother with airbridges or even the valve covers because I was OK with the stock ones and the performance benefits of an airbridge is neglible to me BUT the workmanship you display here is terribly convincing as well as your replies to the price point; I spent a lot of money on my B&B headers mostly because of appearance. We can be prisoners of what we see! (as in the term, "captivating") :reddevil

Default Re: Don't open this thread unless you are ready to jaw-drop! (billiam01)

Based on the responses so far, we will not be bringing the Beauty Covers to market. The molds are nearly finished, but folks do not understand the cost involved in bringing pure carbon fiber to market and the cost of each unit.

We've invested $2650 in the cover molds, but I am pretty disappointed in the response. Since we already had the molds ($10,000 worth) for the bridges, not making more will be easy.

BTW:

Here are the prices of the Granatellie Carbon Air Bridge and BPP carbon bridges: $425.00 and $319.00 respectively.

Jim
