Default Tire/wheel size questions... 18 front 19 rear. Need help!

If I were to run a 275/30ZR19 on the rear 19" wheel, what size should I choose to run on a front 18" wheel if I want to keep the speedometer/ABS/etc. happy? The front would be an 18" x 8.5" wheel.

Thanks!

Rear stock tire diameter = 26.7
Front stock tire diameter = 25.7

275/30 19 diameter = 25.7

So, you need a front tire that is aprox 24.7" tall. That would be

245/35 18 diameter = 24.7

The problem is, there is only one street tire made in that size, and it won't match what you run in the back.

275/30 19 is not an optimal size to run in the rear. 285/35 or 295/30 would be better. Good luck.

Thanks! I really want to run a 295/30/ZR19 in the rear and a 265/35/ZR18 in the front on 19 x 11 and 18 x 9.5 rims, but I'm just really limited on tires in those sizes (Pirelli P Zero Rosso - great dry traction, not so great wet traction), so I thought I'd check some other options. I really like Goodyear's new F1 GS-D3 tires, and 275/30ZR19 was the widest size they had in 19" size, unfortunately.

I definitely don't want to go narrower than a 9.5" rear rim. 11" preferred.

Maybe I should approach this from the standpoint of what performance tires are currently available in 18"/19" sizes that will meet or get closer to my preferred rear rim width, 11".

Any suggestions on tire brands/sizes? (The wheels will be custom made, so they'll fit whatever size tires I end up choosing.)

One other thing, Pirelli does have a solution to add better wet handling to the Rossos. You run Pirelli P Zero Rosso Direzionales on the front wheels and the Pirelli P Zero Rossos on the rear wheels.

However, the only 18" size Rosso Direzionale available is 255/40ZR18.

Thanks!

YELLOHHH, I think I found the formula on Tirerack.com.

Would this combination work?

255/40ZR18 front
285/35ZR19 rear

That would allow me to run about a 9.5" front rim and a 10.5" rear rim, without problems in the AH/ABS/etc, right?

Please advise. Thanks!

This is the site I use for the measurments. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
According to that site, the measurements would be:

255/40 18 = 26.0"
285/35 19 = 26.9"

Sounds like it would work fine, but you'll be a little bit taller than stock. Not a big deal unless you are really lowered. Good luck with your set up.

Best bet for an 18/19 is a 295/30/19 rear, 265/35/18 front, or
a 295/35/19 rear, 275/35/19 front.

A 275 is a little narrow for an 11" rim. It will work, but it's not ideal.

What do you think about the 285/35/19 for the rear with a 10.5" rim? Thanks!

The tire numbers 265/40-18 for example vary in size some are a little narrow/wider and some are taller/shorter. Just like when you buy of shoes. Nike shoes fit differently than Adidas. Refer to tirerack.com pick out the tire you want then click on specs to get the exact numbers.

:iagree: Don't mount a 275 tire on a 11" rim.
