The word on the forum is that the Vararam is one of the more tedious intakes to install. I would guess it would take around 3 hours or so. Goodluck

Yeah, you should plan for atleast 3 hours since it's your first time and you'll be doing it by yourself. The trickiest part of it when working alone is dealing with the V-strip. You should bolt it tighly to one of the scoops before putting them on the car to make it a bit easier.
Hope this helps

It's not too bad. Once you pull the screws out of the mounting holes, you'll just need to flip the clips around...easiest way to do this is spread them apart until they come off, then close the gap between the two sides when they're off the car before reinstalling.
The screens don't have to be moved at all.

A cordless drill/driver (set on a slow speed) with a socket adapter will make the job go a lot quicker. You cannot use air tools because you will end up stripping the speed nuts.
When removing the fan shroud don't forget the white plastic clips on the outside edges, halfway down the shroud.
When installing the air scoops be VERY careful with the mounting screws. You can poke a hole through the front bumper if you tighten them too much. There is also a screw on the outer edge of each air intake that be used for additional scoop support. These two screws are very difficult to reach unless you remove the two access panels on the sides of the shroud below where the parking lights are. These screws provide outside support for the air scoops. You do not have to use these screws to mount the VR on a Z06, but I chose to use them on my car. The screws are also used to mount the parking lights to the front bumper. These screws are used to support the factory air deflectors on LS1 cars as well. When you look under the nose of the car at the outer edges of the scoops you will see what I am talking about. The VR scoops have provisions for these screws. If you choose to not use the screws make sure you push the tab on the VR scoops all the way forward over the top of the screws.
BEFORE reinstalling the fan shroud reinstall the top radiator cross-over support & check the airbox & airbridge alignment. Make sure the airbox cover seats over the air scoops properly and make sure the airbridge lines up with the TB and the stock support studs on the cross-over. When you are satisfied with the fit take off the airbridge, airbox, and cross-over. You can then install the shroud, cross-over & airbox.
When reinstalling the shroud and the radiator cross-over support make sure you remember to shove the upper lip of the radiator shroud under the tab on the bottom side of the cross-over support. Don't lose the rubber bumper that protects the AC high pressure line.

Paint those clips & screws black before reversing & reinstalling them. You will be able to see them through the front screens and they will look better painted black.

can ya feel a nice SOTP?
On the other hand if you install it correctly you will pick up at least a few tenths along with a few MPH at the track which is at least a few car lengths on your competition. I feel that it provides a very respectable gain at the track and if you race it is well worth it.

Re: got vararam today how long to install (kromberg)
I am not mechanically inclined at all. It took me about 3-4 hrs to do the install with a friend helping at times. I would have paid someone to do it had i known it would have been so aggravating. But all in all it was well worth it. I went from 13.02 @ 105mph to 12.82 @ 108mph, with an auto tranny. Good luck with the install andhope it doesn't give you the fits it gave me.
