Default C5R Heads

Anyone out there running C5R heads as part of a streetable package? I'm curious as to results vs. a good set of ported LS6s. I saw two versions being prepped at Lamar Walden's in Atlanta, but are there any on the road yet?

I think it is a major operation to install fuel rails and intake.

I have heard of a few cars with the C5R heads, but if my memory serves me, you need a custom intake manifold, fuel rails etc.... If you have more money than you know what to do with, go for it, otherwise the LS6 heads will work fine. Cartek has put down over 470 rwhp with the LS6 heads N/A, that's impressive.

The biggest problem with running C5R heads and can the streetable if they small combustion chambers; 38cc. Using the deepest dish of -24cc, that makes a total volume of 62cc. Also they require a bore of at least 4.125". Here is the compression ratios you would have with different combos:

4.125"x3.622" = 11.7:1
4.125"x3.85" = 12.4:1
4.125"x4.0" = 12.9:1
4.125"x4x.125" = 13.2:1

Compression would be bigg issue except on the 388 CID. Plus you need a custom intake since the heads have a different intake port and the head has a different angle. The C5R head is really ment for racing.
