Which is better, Blackwing, Vortec, or MTI's C5 Ram air induction setups?
Which one of the cold air inductions systems is best, meaning easiest to install, best results, etc?
Do these air intake systems mean water may get into the engine? Has anyone had a problem?
Who do you suggest I buy from? i.e. best service/support? :chevy

d. none of the above.
go with a halltech cobra. ram air is a misnomer, unless you;re doing 100.
get a slightly used halltech system on ebay or a k & n single filter intake.
but i had to chose between only the ones above i'd take the vortec. :reddevil

MTI's large flat panel filter layout with cold air access will outperform all of the other setups listed IMO. Not as easy to install as the Blackwing tho.

I was going through this also. I wanted to improve on the stock air box, but I was afraid of water ingestion as my rubber spoiler scrapes all over town. After talking to alot of people at Carlisle (including Mallet and some owners of Lingenfelter cars) I went with the Blackwing. How many ponies did I gain? who knows, but throttle response has improved tremendously. It all depends on how much you need to gain, how you drive your car, and how much risk you are willing to take.

I installed the Blackwing. Installation simple 30-45 minute job start to finish. Just installed it last night . I have not really had a chance to evaluated it. All the research I did showd positive. :hurray:

If you spend the money, get what you pay for. VARARAM gave me 3/10's and almost 3 mph over a Blackwing. Cold air induction is almost free H.P..

i got 3 tenths and almost 4mph from my vortex...............picked it up used on the forum with shroud for 150.00....................VORTEX.....for ced cold air is the ticket. :yesnod:

At my shop I sell 90% Blak Hawks.There 200 and the throtle resonse is amazink .You can bank on 17+ rrwhp after relearn but you'll feel it the minute you bolt her on,or should I say the 5-10 minutes you install it.
Lasts a lifetime and even has a cleaning guage when cleaning is needed.
You can spend more and get 2 more ponnies and you cant feel 2 hp or see it on your slip but 200 for the 1st 17 and 400.00 for the last 2 .Do the math theres no rocket science needed,Dave Smilovic Xtreme Motorsports.com

Does anyone sell roomier airbridges? I'm no expert but I've picked up on two things:
1) The stock airbridge is a pretty big bottleneck in the intake tract.
2) The Blackwing does not replace the stock airbridge
So...what can be done about this?

The VORTEX from Breathless Performance is the best. Two years in Florida, and no water injestion problem. A proven 22 HP on the Dyno is not bad either.
