Default Traction Control Gremlin

I was just driving my '03 A4 on the freeway when I heard the chime, checked my DIC and my traction control had turned itself off. I tried to reactivate it a couple of times with no success and then it did respond. I would hate to be driving in a rain storm and have that system disengage. Anyone have any ideas or is it a trip to the dreaded dealership? :chevy

Check your codes. I had a similar problem and it turned out to be the stoplamp switch on the brake pedal. When I used the brakes, the brake lights would not always turn on. When the EBTCM detects decelleration at a certain rate without the brake lights on, it will disable the TCS.

The codes pointed me to the problem; after looking them up in the service manual I went through a few of the options and it ended up being the stoplamp switch.

Did the DIC say anything, mine has done something similar just after startup a couple of times but it says that the AH is warming up and within a minute it comes back on.
