OK. Done. What's Next!
BW, GHL w/ Magnaflow X-Pipe in place and functioning well. (Sounds and runs great). Winter storage in the next month. Spring '04 budget will be more generous.
I've got a true C5 tuner 2 hours from home and will PCM Calibrate (DynoTech Engineering, Ft. Wayne, Indiana - full program with a file folder of print outs/dyno runs, etc.) for around $500-550 depending on the number of bolt ons in place at the time. I've got that program built into the budget for Spring '04.
In some semblance of order I want to do the following before I go to DynoTech for the Edit:
Long Tube Headers
Delete Cats
Ported Throttle Body
MAF coupler and sensor
Z06 AirBridge w/ smooth coupler to TB.
Spark Plugs & Wires (still debating on brand[s])
Tires (not an under-the-hood consideration)
Then, of course, the proverbial LS1 Edit, a.k.a. PCM Calibration.
Opinions are important to me. And yes, I'm still a bit of a noob. But I'm learning quickly.
Nice mods...... I would skip these 2 >MAF coupler and sensor
Z06 AirBridge w/ smooth coupler and do a cam change or something I am tossing around is the 1.85 rockers(Tbyrne running them on sale).More air out means more air in. ;) ;) ;)

Thanx Ray, come to think of it, it would be a good idea to do the cam at the same time as the headers as long as I'll have her guts in my lap already.

Re: OK. Done. What's Next! (EVIL)
you build a house you lay the foundation first....
Good point. I'm a contractor by trade so this should be my approach.
how much you looking to spend
Best Guess...... How far will 2 Grand get me using professional volunteer (nearly volunteer) help and my assistance. I've got access to a C5 Hoist for $10/hour whenever I want it including all the tools in the garage.
how much power do you want?
  How much power is there???? Seriously, I'd like to build a platform that will be blower friendly in a couple years as I tinker around and get more and more addicted to C5G-Force.
I would look into doing a cam and some long tubes if you don't have alot of money to throw around. There are some good low cost heads available also. I did my heads/cam w/ a buddy of mine in his garage. It was pretty easy. Saved 2k on instal. Kaley
A good stainless steel long tube header and larger diameter stainless steel x-pipe center section is what I would recommend doing next. This will set you up for further engine mods in the future like a cam and/or heads. Depending on what setup you went with, its a pure bolt-on too, not welding required.
The ported throttlebody gets you maybe a few HP and a bit better throttle response if done right. I would probably hold off until you do heads/cam or something of the like before I did that.
You already have the larger 01 MAF, so nothing needs to be done there. An airbridge/coupler may get you a couple HP and improve the looks under your hood.
Spark plug and wires are a good idea.. Id go with NGK TR55s and a good set of magnecore or taylor wires.
Tires are also an excellent mod that you will notice each and everytime you drive the car: improved handling, less road noise and better straight line traction.
If you have any questions about anything I mentioned above, or are interested in pricing, feel free to drop me an email!
Just food for thought.....Be careful with the cam selection if your intent is to get a supercharger, blower,or if you decide on nos.The specs. for these power adders is considerably different.Even I think the head mod will dictate the amount of compression you might would use versus how much turbo boost you can practically get away with.BTW you have i.m.

Re: OK. Done. What's Next! (Rays Vet)
Love this forum.
Let's assume first that my conservative mod budget for Spring '04 of $2K could just as easily be double that, or more, depending on how the winter goes. I'm planning a 7 night trip to Phuket, Thailand in April so I don't want to overshoot and get my hopes up unnecessarily. Hence, the conservative budget projection.
Second, let's understand that I do nothing half-azzed. And I only do each thing one time and one way. The right way. ESPECIALLY when it comes to my baby. :yesnod:
So!
Cam: $?,???.00
Heads: $?,???.00
Headers: $???.00
My labor and the fact that I made good choices early on as a smart little Noob and now have the foundation for a ProCharger:
Priceless!!!!!!!!
Now, anyone able to turn the "?"s into numeric figures?
