I'm looking to install 2 single din Stereo head units into the space where the stock C5 stereo currently sits. The head units are a DVD player and a motorised monitor, but although there is the space behind the dash for the units, the hole at the front of the main panel (the panel which wraps around the air-con and stereo units) looks too small...
Does anyone know of any company that manufactures these panels to allow the use of after-market double din stereo units? I'm loathe to chop up my dash board, but at the moment, this is looking like my only option - anyone got any suggestions?
Buy a used surround, put the original one in storage and wail away to your hearts content.
Good plan, you may want to consider cutting out the ash tray, moving the AC unit in its place, and installing the DVD player where the AC unit was. Then just use a radio adapter to install the power unit where the stock HU was.
There is a vender on the forum who makes aluminum brackets with Corvette engraved in the dead area, or you can use the dead area (extra 1/2 din) for an EQ.
Yep, you are trying to put 2 dins in a 1 1/2 din space. You can do anything with fiberglass. I've seen the A/C controls moved down to ashtray area and huge radios with TVs put above. Here is a pic of mine
