Car is dying when slowing down
My car dies when I'm slowing down after spirited acceleration. It only happens when I engage clutch or put in neutral and let the car slow. If I down shift and keeps the rpms up it seems fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

Are you using an aftermarket airfilter which was over oiled?
Most likely, the heated MAF wire has to be cleaned.
Hope this helps

You also might want to check your entire intake system (from filter to throttle body) to ensure it's seated/sealed properly. Hard deceleration might cause the parts to shift enough to open a bad seat/seal, causing a vacuum pressure loss. I had this happen at the front end of the stock accordian air bridge.

My car did that once and it turned out that I had a vacuum leak. I found one of the intake tube connections had come loose and once reconnected and tightened, it was good to go.

This also can be a symptom of a dirty throttle body. Remove it from the manifold, squirt some carb cleaner on a rag and clean the throttle blades on both sides and also the barrels. This is a maintenance item that is often overlooked. HTH

Do you have any storred codes. Mine did the same thing and I had a air leak in the coupler between the MAF and throttle body. I had two DIC codes. MAF low air flow and MAF high air flow , at the same time!

Re: Car is dying when slowing down (Fish Elvis)
I had the same problem as well but was able to address it. I found two things that could cause this issue. If your intake is loose and you are taking unmetered air in after the MAF due to a leak it can cause the car to stall at idle. In my case I was tripping a few codes that indicated the O2 sensors were bad. I replaced these and the car no longer stumbles or dies at idle. It would be especially bad after spirited run up. Good luck
