Default Re: Does changing the rear gear ratio change the RWHP #and/or torque? (Tree)

I plan to go to 3;90's or 4:10's soon, I have a new 3:15 rear end and plan to install the new gears my self. I have changed gears in lots of cars and the street drivabiliy always suffers a bunch. The great part of the M6 cars are the tall top two gears. I do not plan to race my car....much anyway, but the quickness thru the gears, higher torque thru the gears and getting 6th out of the lug zone (I live in western pa and don't get much over 75-80 on a cruise) are the main reasons.

One question have any 4:10 guys had drive shaft vibration problems like the F body and SS impala guys have had ?

Thanks for the help, great thread.
