Eric

The C6 system is significantly different than the C5 HVAC System. I would have to do some digging in a C6 tech manual to answer your questions for a C6 system...

Sorry to hit up an old tread. I posted a new one but thought people might be more likely to it on an older thread.
I looked at the wiring diagram and it looks like the blower motor has a relay before the 5 position switch (manual air on a 99 frc). Mine is working just as it is supposed to and I replaced the resistor just hoping that is the problem. It works even with the switch off. I can turn it off with the switch and on every setting. But the key isn't in the car!!! Lol
Not a big deal til I forget to turn it off and drain the battery. I think maybe the really before the switch is stuck on. If that relay exist. I can't find it. I know there is one built into the resistor but since I just replaced it and the old one didn't even look bad. I can't really believe that is it. Any advice is appreciated!!

The rat that was running on that wheel must have been preparing for the Olympics.

Hi all great stuff here and exactly what I was looking for, I think. I suck at all electrical probs but not afraid to try. My fan quit working this week and it sounds like the relay from what I'm reading here. So could I get the R & R as well from some one? 2000 Coupe with dual control manual.

Thanks to all once again!

The fan control module (with relay) is located on the bottom of the HVAC air box. Follow the wires from the motor to the controller. If you have dual zone climate control, the module logic controlled and is expensive.

Okay this is what I have going on I'm working on a 2002 ZO6 with dual climate control I have checked all the fuses removed the blower motor bench tested it and she works fine checked all the connections everything looks okay I did have this problem a few months back and I wiggled the plug back and forth took it in and out replaced it and it came back on but now nothing I did check voltage at the plug I'm getting approximately 13 volts when A/C is on I also checked voltage while the fan motor is connected and it seems like I'm not getting anything disconnected the blower and i get voltage comes back.. I did Run and Jump ground to the blower while its connected to the plug and it comes on at full speed so what do we think it is? thanks

Sounds exactly like you have a bad motor control module. Have you taken it apart and looked for vaporized circuit traces or burnt components???

If the high current side of the module is bad, you could see battery voltage with the motor unpluged and no voltage with it plugged in.

When the circuit dies, it will let the voltage signal through but will NOT pass enough current to drive the motor.

Bud,, A ground is a gound. Running another wire is fine BUT, If it were me, I would just fix whats there. The wire from the fan to the splice pack and the ground lug is not that long or dificult to find.

Drove my car over to have lunch with friends. A/C worked great. Come out and start the car, no blower fan. Car is 2001 with dual controls, fuses are good and blower motor never made noise or vibrated. Anyone know the part number for the dual control module?
