It sounds more like when a stick would get stuck on your bicycle and hitting the spokes of the wheel. However, at the same time it does have the "*****" sound like a marble in a can. I can definitely tell it's coming from the front and not the rear. Also, when I let my clutch out at idle I have that "marbles in a can" sound but the one I'm talking about sounds completely different.
I can duplicate this everytime letting the car scoot on it's own in first gear with the clutch all the way out. Accelerating to 15 MPH or so will make it go away, and it doesn't make the sound any other time. You can't hear it from inside the car, but rolling down the window it's very clear. It's getting louder and it's definitely coming from the front, and I'm getting worryied that it might not be something simple.
My centercaps were (are) loose and they make a clicking sound at low speeds especially when driving by a sidewalk or anything else for the sound to bounce off.

Turns out one of the clips that the centercap is held in by broke loose. Now I just have a faint squeak from the centercaps since both of the front ones are loose. Dodged that bullet!
Glad to hear it was something simple...
Always look at the easy stuff first might save time and money, for both you and in my case the customer..
