Default Need Help With Halltech Tric Intake

Hello,

I just purchased a 2000, it now has 8000 miles on the clock. The car has the Halltech intake....what do I need to know about this intake?

Do I clean or replace the filter?
If I do clean it - how do I & how often?
What other issues should I know?

Thanks again,
Dave

Its one of the best there ever was.....clean it at 10,000 mile intervals, sooner if you live in a dusty climate. Use the K&N airfilter cleaning kit ($11.95) at any Harley shop...........enjoy! My 2002 made over 360 RWHP with this as a mod......

I have this mod and spoke with Jim Hall about how/when to clean the filter.

He suggested squirting a high power hose into the filter thus forcing dirt off from the inside out.

Every 10k is about right depending on dust conditions.

Jim also suggested to lightly apply mineral oil (NOT mineral spirits) or just to spray some WD40 lightly over outside.

Thats about it. You might want to do it now and set your bench mark so you will know for the next time.

great air intake kit. i loved mine, and used it until i got a supercharger. i cleaned mine about every 5k miles (its dusty out here in the midwestern plains). i used the k&n filter cleaning kit. be careful to not put too much oil on the filter (most common mistake).

Beware of deep water. We have a cover that will help protect everything during rain, but I highly recommend you upgrade to the TRAP lower section.

We will upgrade you from the TRIC to the TRAP for $149.00 and your old TRIC pipe.

You will get the TRAP Hybrid and Warhead filter for that price.

that is very nice that Jim allows a path to the newer system. I have the Tric and I feel it is the superior piece. I wouldn't trade it for anything .
