My 2000 A4 seems to have much louder fuel rail noise than other C5s I've listened to. Am I hearing things or does each set of fuel rails have their own unique sound volume? I thinking of replacing them with another set to see if there's any improvement. Let me know what you knink.
No I mean the fuel rails themselves after the covers have already been removed. It's the rapping/tapping noise from the fuel rails feeding the injectors.
You need to isolate the sound. Put a long screwdriver with the handle to your ear and touch the metal part to various components like the injectors, rail, etc. It works like a stethoscope. It'll giveus a better idea of what's up.
I've done all that and that's why I mentioned the fuel rails specifically. I'm just trying to find out if all fuel rails sound exactly the same or are some louder than others for some reason... Thanks
