Default For anyone doing the gear/converter change themselves....

.....as we all know, you will need your computer upgraded. I sent mine to AP Engineering in Michigan. They charged me $150.00 total to change anything I wanted. I went with 3.42's and a ProTorque 2800-3200 stall converter. Combined with their computer tune, driveability is PERFECT.

I was not voicing a know-it-all comment, I was merely stating a solution to a well known fact. Therefore, I guess I need to clarify my point for the one that could not pick up on it.

Those that do not want to spend $600 (or do not have friends to split the cost with) on LS1 edit and want the cheapest/best quality non-dyno tune out there, send your PCM to AP Engineering. For $150, you can't beat it.

Jamesge,

Being perfectly honest with me, how much has the normal driveability changed with the higher stall? What happens if you take off slowly from a stop? Does the tach go up to 2500 rpm's or so before you move?

What is the address and phone number of AP in Michigan?

Thanks in advance,

Dave :auto:

Honestly,

The only difference I feel is taking off slowly from idle. RPM's may go to 800-1000 til it moves (just a guess because I have not payed attention to that, maybe less).
