Ok, so I am eyeballing the 90MM FAST intakes, and hear of "some" tuning problems related to the TB. I am thinking it is just a matter of time before some of the TB issues get worked out, I can wait on that.
But moving on, I want to purchase the 90MM FAST intake along with some good heads (AFR or LS6) and make some mods. The question is, will a stock TB bolt up to the 90MM intake, leaving me solely with a mismatch of the intake hole, OR does the size difference widen the mounting bolts and such, as to make this an impossible swap? Or in other terms, is the only difference in the two FAST intakes the size of the hole, or are the mounting holes also widened?
Well I remember looking at the stock and the 90mm side by side but was so shocked at how much bigger the 90mm was I don't remember paying attention to the holes---I am pretty sure however that the holes are wider and can find out for you--but you should leave your current intake on with it until you are ready for the entire setup I think tuning the stocker on the FAST would be as big a nightmare as the whole setup--there are a number of guys around the country that can tune the crap out of one and many more coming on line its all experience and a new product--mine goes like hell but always an idle problem--the 346ci does not have as many tuning problems as the strokers, the hugh motors gulp so much air it freaks out the PCM etc to no end--on a 346 size motor with a good H/C setup you can expect 25rwhp out of the FAST setup alone--with a good tune of course--
Thanks guys for confirming the fitment issue. At this point in the product cycle, is there a preferred TB. I take it the "Nick Williams"? Any online info I could read?
Again, thanks for the feedback. You've confirmed what I was kinda thinking anyway, that one should go straight to the full deal (heads/intake/TB) all at the same time, and have "one" tune done.
