well somewhere i saw that u can bore out your own throttle body i thought it was on the ls1 how to website, however cant find it has anyone else done or heard of this mod...if so how was it did u notice a difference
You can port your own throttle body with the right tools and time. I don't know where you can find directions for it but, I'm sure someone here will steer you in the right direection.
Boring out the TB is a lot of work. You would have to reshape the bowl, make a new butterfly plate, machine the slot in the servo motor shaft that mounts the butererfly plate. This is percise machine work.....small machinning errors will cause the plate not to sit properly in the bowl and cause major complications in tuning. I talked to a BBK engineer about making a 100mm TB....it's far more complicated that it seems.
It would be an overwhelming project unless you are a machinist with access to a lot of machine tools. You will retain your sanity longer and run much better if you get a larger TB from a commerical source, have a tune done and drive happy.
