I have Jet-Hot Coated LGM headers. The air tube on the left bank snapped off flush with the header. My AIR system was removed and I have blockoff plates so I do not care to replace/repair the tube and blockoff plate.
What's the easiest way to seal the hole in the header without removing the Header?? Tap it and put in a bolt?? Suggestions and or Thoughts?? TIA.
You could seal it with a bolt which would prolly work just fine, but I would drive it to an exhaust shop and have them weld it up. Should be able to get in there with a welder. It's not a really big hole, so it could be fixed easily.
I decided against the weld - it would destroy the Jet-Hot coating in the area around the tube. I drilled it and tapped with a 3/8" tap. Put in a 3/8" bolt temporarily - until I can get a stainless allen head. FWIW.

If you want to send it back, we will weld it for no charge. there is a paint on coating from Eastwood that will do the same as Jet hot. It is made just for repairs like this. Had we known you were going to block them off, I would have welded them for you before we sent them out.
We have since added a gusset to the air tubes so there is no chance of vibrating and breaking even when they are not used.
Here's a before and after pic of my fix. Mine are also Jet Coated.
I had the hole welded up and then painted the patch with High HeatDuplicolor Aluminum spray paint.
The aluminum paint matched the Jet Coat color almost perfect.
It's really hard to tell any repair was done except for the slight hump on top of header.

Sorry for the trouble. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the Offer! I'm happy with my solution - once I get an SS bolt.
I've loved my Original LGM Longtubes since the day I bought them - and they are beautiful .
