Default Check out our Big 3 kit!

Hi Everyone!
We have put together a Big 3 kit for you that is easy to install!
With all of the high-tech electronics that have been incorporated into your C5 Corvette, not to mention additional after market electronics and stereo systems, it can take a toll on the factory charging systems ability to keep up. Especially if, over time, connections have become corroded.
Installing a BIG 3 upgrade can be very beneficial as many on the Corvette forum will tell you. SacCityCorvette has developed a BIG 3 installation kit for the C5 Corvette. It is made from all high quality materials and designed so it will not look like an aftermarket universal kit. For safety it has a 100 amp heavy duty fuse, uses automotive grade 4 gauge wire, (not the type most car stereo shops use), the positive wire has a mesh sleeve over it for additional protection, all connections are hydraulically crimped and come with all the hardware needed to do the install. The installation takes about thirty minutes with simple hand tools. If you have doubt that this BIG 3 kit will make any difference in your charging system, please check out our test video below and see how the voltage increases when we connect it! Update: If you have an issue with your lights dimming when you turn on other power accessories, several people have reported that our Big 3 has fixed that.

Here is the link with all the info. http://www.saccitycorvette.com/Big-3.html
Side terminal $119.95 Top Post $139.95

That looks a well thought out product you guys.

I have done something similar on my car and I can tell you guys gave this a lot of thought, including using the 100a Mega-Fuse with it's own fuse block. Just having a direct wire from the alternator to the battery alone is worth it.

Nice.

Ive been interested in the Big three mod since I learned of it upon joining this forum. I am however set on doing a bettery relocation to the trunk. Would this mod be pointless if I do that? Or is there a way to make it work from the trunk?

That would be a nice option. Lot's of guys have either a dual-terminal battery already, or (in the case of '04 C5s) an OEM top terminal battery. For anyone with a dual-terminal battery, using the top terminals would eliminate the need to swap out the side post terminals, etc. and the installation would be even quicker.

Where was this a few months ago! I spent about 3 hours researching options and spent way more than your turn-key solution! May end up buying your package in the end anyway. (I finally switched to a 60-amp fuse)

Hi Choreo,
3 months ago we were researching, buying different products to test(wasted a lot of $) and and figuring out the simplest
cleanest install.
BTW we have our top post setup just about ready to go. Its really nice and no mods or cutting the stock cables required for those with top post batteries.

I just did my big 3 upgrade using this kit. Very easy and everything you need is included. Seemed a little pricey but probably worth it for the convenience. My alternator was whining every time I started the car after my stereo upgrade - I'd have to restart the car to stop it. Issue resolved after installing the kit.

Awesome kit! Looks very clean like it should be from the factory!

Just watched the video on the site and can't believe I never thought of the "paper towel trick" after all these years! Great tip!

Definitely on my list of spring projects now after the voltage issues I was having this fall on my Z06.

Hi lionelhutz,
We only had the a/c on which also turned on the cooling fans. And it was idling.

OK, I'd like to see that test with high fans, headlights and AC all running.

0.2V wasn't much of a change but I assume that car had the new grounds installed and the battery to under hood fuse box wire installed. In other words, you were only showing the effect of the charging wire, not all other wires?

I will say it looks like a very well put together kit.

Ordered ... tired of my headlights dimming in time with my turn signals

At first my frugality kicked in and said "$120 for freaking wires?!?! no way!"

Then I tried to assemble my own Big 3 this weekend, and I decided that between getting the wires, cutting them to the right lengths, crimping terminators on them, getting a fuse box and fuse, and trying to jury-rig something to those side posts (ooooh I see you have some magical, custom extended fasteners!) that I was going to cost myself way more than $120 worth of my time to save a few bucks on materials.

*bullet bitten*
