My '02 dyno'd 353 rwhp bone stock. Most '02-'04s seem to be in the 350-355 rwhp range.

I believe most '01s dyno around 335-340 rwhp.

For some reason the C6's seem to be dyno'ing around 340-345 rwhp, which means that either the C5 Z06's were underrated, or the C6's 400 hp is overrated.

In a few weeks, I'll know firsthand, but my car does have a Borla on it, which could affect it either way I guess? I'll post results then.

My 01's stock base line was 335... 24K miles, 4 1/2 years, a few bolts and a tune later, I am a wee bit more than that...

The various model years that I have seen have been pretty much in line with what "stingray454" stated. 01s 330 - 340 later models 350 - 360.

with a 13% drive line loss you get:

01s: 335 -> 385
others: 355 -> 405

Were those C6s automatic or manual transmissions? Maybe autos have a slight bit more drive line loss than manuals. Just a thought.

Villian C5,

Thanks in advance
According to the dyno numbers we have got, here are the following ranges as no two Vettes have dyno tested alike:

2001 Z06: 335-340 rwhp
02-04 Z06: 350-362 rwhp

05 C6 A4: 330 rwhp
05 C6 MN6: 351 rwhp

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Shawn

Shawn (as usual) is 100% right, but let me add some thoughts of my own. No two cars are the same and neither or dyno's. To further shed some light on the 04 LS6, while GM hasn't publically said so it appears from real world results they took some of the FAT out of the 04 LS6 AFR's. As we all know the LS1/LS6 since day one usually run RICH out of the box, hence the power gains when mechnaically leaned out by installing intakes and exhausts. And the need to tune these cars with LS1 Edit. My 99 when it was dyno'd had AFR's that fell to well under 11:5.1 from 5200 RPM's and at 6000 PRM's had fallen even further. My MN6 with Corsa Indy's came in at 292 RWHP. A buddy with a 2000 MN6, B&B exhaust and a Blackwing came in at 321 RWHP but his AFR's were almost perfect hovering around 12:5.1 at 5200 PRM's. Why, he had been tuned.

Many 04 Z owner's report getting lean codes after installing an intake. Based on this and the fact you see higher stock HP/TQ numbers I can only assume GM tweaked the PCM on the 04's. It's a shame they didn't see fit to officially rate the 04 at say 425 or whatever. I bet they didn't want to steal the C6 and LS2 thunder even more since the 05 Z51 still isn't was fast as the 04 Z's and for that matter 01 Z and up.

With my mods I'm hoping to see around 360 RWHP and plan on hosting another dyno day for my club. We usually book the facility for the entire day and can get 15 to 18 cars in. Gives you a real good perspective on what mods make power, the state of tune in each car and the state of affairs when it comes to making real world power.

Tom
