Default 1963 Z06

Has anyone seen a 1963 Z06????? According to this article it's supposed to be one of the rarest corvettes. Only 199 produced. I would love to see one.

I know there is one for sure at the NCM. I prefer the 1968 convertible to the 1963 Z06. One of each would be nice, however. ;)

Weekend before last...

A friend and I saw a '63 Z06 at the NCM. Awesome.

Since we were rolling from Detroit to Dallas in a brand new 01 Z06, it made it even better.

Turbo3.8what? How 'bout a picture.

The Jim Jaeger's "Garage-Mahal" has two... A silver one that was on the masthead graphic for this forum.

Here's a picture of it with a 2001 at Mid-Ohio in May, 2000:

and the First Z06 ever built, the McDonald #00 racer. This car is currently undergoing restoration...(Sri, I don't have a picture handy)

Try David Van Weel's web site: http://www.z06vett.com He's the original owner and did
his own restoration. The web site has lots of pictures of the special parts (like the
brakes) and original purchase documentation.

His is a late small tank version, so there are no pictures of the 36.5 gallon fiberglass
fuel tank located in the rear compartment that was part of the original Z06 option.
It was deleted and offered as a separate option (N03) in Feb. '63, and was available with
any engine, transmission or other option through 1967.

Hello all, if I'm not mistaken-there is an original Z06 just up the road from me in Easley, South Carolina. Last I heard- he was considering an offer of around $100K  Its all original with VERY low miles. I'll try to get some accurate specs on it and some pics up here for anyone that's interested.

Vic Edelbrock owns one and brings it and a couple of his other cars up from California to Seattle International Raceway each summer for the Vintage Historic Races. They don't run the cars at 10/10ths, but they don't baby them either. The old Z06 sounds sweet and can hold its own with the other cars of the period.

Vic's car is an original Z06, but it no longer has any of the original Z06 special parts.

Disk brakes, suspension work, and a stronger engine with contemporary performance
parts are necessary to keep up with the Shelbys in BP.

I think Paul Reinhart's Z06 might still have the original type components. He raced the
car back in the sixties, sold it, then bought it back. I saw him win BP at Monterey
about ten years ago, but I'm not sure if he's still active.

There are some Pictures at the top from when I did a NBC corvette thing...

Sweet to see a 1963 Z06 a 1971 LS6 and my 2001 Z06... there are only 188 1970 LS6's so to get all 3 car's together in the same spot was amazing!
