You can install the VR yourself also. I have done three myself. Just search the forum for the instructions. The instructions on the forum are much more clear to understand than the ones that come with the VR. Basic hand tools and jackstands and about two hours of your time. Good Luck.

I did on on my other c5. I'm not sure if I will on the Z06.

It can be done by yourself. I wouldn't pay $200+ to have it installed. It can be a pain but it works out in the end.

takes about 2 hours to do it neat & tidy & correct. if your shop is $130 an hour then that's about right. make sure they've installed a lot of 'em and know the tricks to do it right. if they have (by which i mean hundreds of 'em), then it's worth it. if they haven't, well, it ain't.

personally, after what i saw it took to get the darned thing in there, it's worth every penny to have it done right. i'm not that patient....and probably would have caused much more $ damage than the price i paid to have it installed!

The estimate I got was $360, needless-to-say, I will be doing it myself this weekend.

I did mine in my condo garage by flashlight without a jack (I didn't have a low enough one yet) in just over two hours. You can do it yourself. The DIY on the install is a great tool.

The VR was the first mod I did to my vette. Never worked on a vette before. Of course online everyone says a couple of hours. It took me and my buddy close to 4 hours to do it in his garage. Granted this was the first time. I am sure that if I had to do it again I could cut at least an hour off that.

Just prepare yourself to be there for a while. Go slow. It is a very easy install. Just tedious. But you will love the results. Netted me a little over 3 tenths and 3.5 mph in the quarter.

I'm getting mine installed next week for $120. Shop said 2 hours at $60/hr. Not bad. Shop around. There are probably some performance shops around begging for work right now.

Make sure you hook the upper lip of the radiator shroud behind the notch on the bottom of the radiator's upper plastic cover. I bet a lot of people don't do this.
