The 2004's I believe have a smoother ride from revised shocks. I have a 2003 Z myself. Although almost all years are the same but I prefer seeing the 50th Anniversary when I look at it
. It looks like something is missing from the vette symbol with the other years

The 2004 has revalved shocks. Not sure about the front but rear shocks for sure. Also, my understanding was the 2004 shocks were valved stiffer than 2003. I may be wrong.

I think that they might have changed to the steel shift forks even in late production 2003 models. That's what I heard but maybe someone can confirm. I have an early production year 2003 and have had no problems with the forks myself.
