Default PF46 vs. PF47 Oil Filter

Does anyone know the difference between an AC Delco PF46 and PF47 oil filter? I accidently purchased a PF47 instead of a PF46 for my LS6. They look identical from the outside, but have got to be different in some respect. Can a PF47 be used with the LS6?

Take a look at the size of the center hole that threads onto the block.
You will find that it is smaller.....
Maybe you can use the PF-47 on your Malibu V-6.
