Default New fluids in the Z

I'm going to order some Amsoil and swap out some fluids next weekend.

I have in mind:

Engine flush
5w-30 motor oil
EaO oil filter

75w-90 gear fluid

Manual trans fluid-according to Amsoil, I can use universal trans fluid for this application.

Power steering fluid

Clutch fluid (DOT 3)

Brake fluid (DOT 3)

Coolant

Am I missing anything here?

I want to change for my sake of mind.

Are any additives necessary?

Any tips or techniques to make things go easier?

Add an Amsoil nano-fiber air filter, and an ACDelco fuel filter. Clean the throttle body. Use Prestone DEX-COOL & distilled water.

Hi Edmond -

You'll need a 10mm hex wrench for the diff plugs. I use a 10mm deep well socket on the short end of the allen wrench to make a "handle".

I would make sure the fill plugs will come out of both the trans and the diff BEFORE you drain them as a precaution.

Also be sure to locate the crush washers on the plugs so as not to lose them.

Finally - I would pour the trans fluid into a gallon jug if it comes in quarts - this will save you the headache of moving the pump to 4 different quart bottles when you are pumping it into the trans.

best regards -

If you have a small air compressor, I found that running a small air tube to the top of the bottle, and using air to push the transmission fluid into the transmission worked better than a pump, especially if you do not have a lift in your garage.
Drill a hole for the fill tube in one of the trans. fluid bottle caps, and run it all the way to the bottom.
Drill a second hole just big enough for a small air line like you see for aquariums. Connect air line to a nozzle on your air compressor and set at a low pressure (10 psi or less).
Squeeze the nozzle to pressure the top of the bottle and push the fluid down and up into the tube to the transmission.
