There were 2025 blue Z-16 Z06's made in 2004. If I remember correctly, you could only get blue on the Z16. Even though that was supposed to be the rare special edition, more of that color was built in 2004 than any other color.

Yep!
Color prod number
Red (Torch) 876
Black 1186
Silver (Machine) 967
Yellow (Millennium) 629
LeMans Blue (CE Edition Z16) 2025

So actually the Z16 is the LEAST rare.

One nice thing about the Z16, even though not "most rare", is that there is no mistaking this is the last C5 model year. Any other C5 can be easily faked with a wheel swap. This is like a ratchet placed in my valuation jack, not going to dicker around about 1998 vs. 1999 vs. 2000+ model year. Mine is 04 and will only be compared to other 04's on the auction block ;-)

Just my $0.02 for the Z16 with the carbon fiber hood, first carbon fiber part ever placed on an American production vehicle.

That depends on how good you eye is.
Machine silver was only on the '04 C5. Previous years were Quick Silver (slightly lighter).
Also, the wheels were the same for all colors from 02-04 except the polished ones on the Z16. So a "wheel swap" wouldn't really work to "fake" anyone out.

Don't forget that 325 Z16's I think it was, went overseas, so it's 1700 or so for the states.

Thats right might be the most for that year but it was only for that year. How many blacks, reds, yellows made for all years combined?

You know what your looking at when you see one coming down the road.

For the 2004 model year, a 24 Hours of Le Mans Commemorative Edition of the Z06 (dubbed the Z16 after its RPO code) was offered in celebration of the C5-R "1-2" in-class finishes at Le Mans. The option package consisted of a special paint color ("Le Mans Blue Metallic"); wide, silver-and-red stripes optionally applied down the center of the car; a carbon fiber hood (saving an additional 10 pounds of weight); special commemorative badging and headrest embroidery; and brightly-polished wheel rims (a first on the Z06) with unique centercaps. Though not as outwardly apparent, the Z16 also received shock damping tuning for improved handling. The Z16 was the most produced Z06 in 2004 totaling 2025 units; of that number, 325 went overseas, leaving North America with approximately 1700.
