C-5 IPOD to Stock radio adapter
Does anybody know if the 2003 Zo6 radio has a standard connector on the back for a cd changer? That's apparently all I need to make use of this IPOD adapter.

Yup. I have that exact same adapter on my 03 Z06. It's completely plug and play, very easy and simple. Only tricky part is getting the wires routed behind all the bracing and brackets but it's not bad.

I'm thinking about getting something like this.
Does anyone know of a way to just hook the iPod to my '03 Z by just the 1/4" jack? I'm not concerned about charging the iPod or using the controls on the car.

not to hijack, but does anyone know if there's a way to get some sort of an adapter for just a regular headphone jack? that way i can just stream music off my phone. i do it in my dd but i have an aftermarket cd player so it's super easy with the aux headphone jack input right there on the front...thanks!

Search thru my posts and you will see how you can do it. Costs about $6 and takes about an hour, very simple. If you can't find it or need more info PM me and I shoot you over the info when I get back home from vacation.

You can modify the stock radio to add a aux in plug if you can strip a few wires and solder in a bypass basically. Basically you turn on the CD player and then when a device is plugged into the headphone jack it overrides the audio from the CD player. I'm sure there is a thread on here detailing that. I did that with my 99 TA but was never 100% happy with it, the headphone jack connector wasn't perfect so you had to have the plug in just right like you had a bad connection or something.
The better alternative is the PXDX / AUX2CAR device. I don't know if a forum vendor sells it, but you can get a PXDX kit instead of the PXDP or whatever model that is for Ipods. The PXDX works with that same wiring harness and plugs into the back of the factory Z radio, but instead of having the ipod connect cable it just has a headphone jack to plug into any MP3 player or model device. It looks the same as the IPOD unit only it is a green control box instead of white. Just google PXDX and you'll find the unit. I got mine on ebay with the necessary Vette cable harness thing for like $75.
That is what I have in my 02 Z, which I use with my Zune. Works 100%, love it.

Actually I see DoubleD mods sells the PXDX as well: http://www.doubledmods.com/ZUNE-C5-C...HGM2-pxdx2.htm EDIT <- this is the kit that plugs into the CD changer harness and NOT the back of the radio.
The one with the cable to plug into the back of the radio is here: http://www.doubledmods.com/ZUNE-C5-C...?categoryId=-1
That is the way to go if you want to be able to handle inputs from any audio device. Charging will require an extra cigarette lighter adapter/wire running to your device, but that is no biggie IMO with the 2nd power port we have in the console.
Oh and I've never used it but comes with an alternate cable to give you dual RCA inputs instead of the 3.5mm headphone cable if needed.

Crap, don't thank me too soon. I PM'd you to make sure you saw it, but I just noticed DoubleD had two kits for the PXDX, the one I linked to originally has the cable that plugs into the actual CD changer harness. I think with a Z06 you want the one that plugs into the back of the radio (which is actually what I got). My bad if you have already ordered and this causes trouble to change your order, I'm sure DoubleD can change it before shipping as long as you contact them soon enough.
I believe you want http://www.doubledmods.com/ZUNE-C5-C...?categoryId=-1
