Default Who has installed C5 fog lights on their Z06??

If you have installed them behind the Z06 brake screens how do you like them?

I want to do it to get some more light seeing how the headlights suck. If I do this I want to use only GM parts.

How was the installation and how much extra light do you get? Was it worth while?

Thanks

If you want more light...replace the headlamps first. HID's are a night and day upgrade. If you want the "cool foglight look" then get the fog's.

The install isn't too bad. You'll need the wire harness and double switch (trunk, fog light). I got all that on this forum. The lights are nice to use at dusk when you don't quite need your headlights. We don't get much fog in NC, so I don't use them much.

It's a worthwhile mod as long as you use high quality foglights, if using the stock factory lights it's a waste of time because they don't produce that much light. Mounting lights behind the screens doesn't matter, it looks like they're not even there when the lights are on.It's also easy to do.

Putting in HID fog lights in the Z06 is a very good improvement. Using the stock GM fog light housing is the best way to do it. Just add HID bulbs to the stock GM housings.

A forum vendor sells a kit specifically for our Z06's

I did it in my car and LOVE the improvement of light directly in front of the car on the road.

I agree with Toque. I added Fog lights to my Z06 with a 6000K HID kit. They are so bright I don't even use my headlights in town anymore. They are also HID.

Here are some pictures with my HID FOGS only.

Is there an open plug in port in the under hood fuse box that this harness simply plugs in to?
