No. If it sounds ridiculous, it probably is.

There was actually a couple C4 Snake Skinners built by Tom & Jim Morrison... They had lots of hp and were very light, 2 were LeMans cars and the other was a 89 ZR-1 that was owned by GM's John Heinricy who worked extensively to make the car lighter. The "Snake Skinner" Corvette was powered by a special Black version of the LT-5 Mercury Marine V8 and featured a host of performance upgrades. Rick Hendrick of NASCAR fame was on the stage during the bidding and purchased the GM Heritage car for $160,000.
With a 475hp LT5 V8 and less weight, this vehicle became a legend at GM Performance.
Includes Mercury Marine special built black motor....

But not a 2002. The owner just says that is what the dealer told him when he bought it. It has two red stripes on the drivers fender and says "Snake Skinner" above the Z06 badge on that side only.

I vaugely remember this edition back in the day. The thing I remember the most is it was more of an apperance package vs the C4 edition which was performance driven.

And GM had nothing to do with it. It was either a dealer or tuner thing. Can't remember which.
