Default Thinking of doing a custom c5 side exhaust =)

Sooooooo.... I dont know how many of you are familiar with supervette conversions but they do some wicked nasty stuff to C6 vettes. I like the side exhaust they do but they only offer it for the C6 so seeing I paint at a body shop and have a really good body guy/friend that works with me i am thinking of taking on coming up with a side exhaust for my c5 like they do on the c6 vettes. thoughts? ideas?

I just want to try and see if i can do it. I think it would give my vette a unique look and look pretty mean at the same time.

what concerns you about the paint?

i dont think there will be a problem with back pressure.... or i hope not

That would be an interesting project... Exiting where the Z06 Brake Ducts would be?? (Edit Or near there obviously... )

SuperVettes have some insanely awesome cars!

Would you plan on going through the frame? Under the frame? Above the frame?

Wondering if you saw the one in the previous month's issue of Corvette Magazine. That was on a C6 and looked good but if I were to do it on a C5, I would want to emmulate the ones on C3's that had the four pipes intertwining and flowing into the side pipe. Might be tough from a ground clearance aspect, but if you could pull it off, it would be EPIC!!!!!!!

By the way, the ones you showed in the pics look great!!

I am unsure .... as of now i am thinking that the rocker would be remade to hold the pipe. I mean if you buy a sts tt kit it uses the rocker to run the piping through it so thats where i am at at the moment

I will have more of a flare to the rocker not just use the stock rocker and have the hole cut out for the tip. It will come out sorta like the side skirts do i am thinking but with a few extra curves

Black carbon snarking up the side of your ride, just look at any race cars after a few laps.

I've seen some drag race C5 vettes over at ECS with a single exhaust pipe on each side leaving the car at the back end of the FRONT 1/4 panel behind the front tire. I think thats pretty unique and bad ***.
